Concept :
Between Music and Image: Contemporary Improvisational Storytelling
Now the artist is perpetually at the point of acknowledge and understand that artistic creation is an interactive perpetual exchange that is never ended. Ideas and expressions take precedence over ownership and start to become synonymous with the collaborative process and in result of the interactive storytelling.
In thinking more the shared ownership and interactive storytelling in multimedia art, such as music and video, our thoughts come to Contemporary Improvisational Storytelling, and “ The Mystery Of Which Mystery” is a true example. In this piece, thinking processes and action are influenced and changed based on different combinations of narrative. That is, the video was the artist’s personal interpretation of the original score, and the improvisational performance is an additional narrative layer of musicians. Additionally, the artists’ collaboration also contributes to an interactive shared ownership storytelling between two media.
There is, however, a deeper logic to that draws its critical force from the opposition between contemporary media practices- the aforementioned on the one hand, and, one the other, the Contemporary Improvisation, Interactive Storytelling and Inter-media work, in which art essentially finds itself complicit with a globalization of the image in the service of capital.
